Reconciling God & Prosperity Thinking - My thoughts

On my run to BUCCEES this morning I had a Thought Download, probably inspired by a podcast to which I was listening. I want to capture its essence here.

In my work culture, we believe in God’s divine providence, hospitality, profitability, worth of the individual, and continual improvement.

On its face you would think that because these underly our work, every person on the team would be friendly (they are) godly, considerate, into learning, and okay with money.

But they aren’t. In fact, many seem to be constrained by beliefs that profit is zero sum and improvement and learning take too much time.

My thought is that in some way their beliefs have them thinking God doesn’t want them to plan, set goals or focus on profitability.

I believe God gave us free will. In His infinite wisdom and generous love, He gave us the freedom to think, to choose and to act. So- any who choose to think thoughts of lack, scarcity, and poverty are free to do that. But it’s not in alignment with the business core values. So those who choose lack and scarcity thinking really should not stay on the team and should free up a spot for someone who is abundant, focused on personal and business growth as well as very clear on the value of profits in a business.

An indicator as to the beliefs of a person is the actions they take, the people with whom they spend time and the environment around them.

An action that aligns with prosperity beliefs is the setting of goals and the steady pursuit of them. Show me a goal-oriented person who loves the Lord, and I will guess that they would be a good fit on our team.

Beliefs are simply deeply conditioned thoughts that we habitually think. Choose well your thoughts. God gives us permission. Choose to think thoughts of love, gratitude, joy, abundance, friendliness, hospitality, expectation and curiosity. These will create a positive belief system and will serve as a foundation on which to build a prosperous life and allow you to show up in the world in a way that adds tremendous value.

If you find this hard, as Zig Ziglar would say, trade in your stinkin’thinkin’ and think opposite thoughts than the ones which keep you from setting goals.

Something to think about...
